Saunahof marks the opening of hunting season with a “Tally hoe” and a special sauna infusion

If “Tally hoe” is the call ringing out around Bad Füssing in the future, then it won’t be the local wildlife that will be sweating, it will be the hunters. At least the hunters who visit the Saunahof in Therme 1 that is! From January 2010 a rustic “Hunter’s Sauna” awaits sauna-goers. The previous Finnish sauna has been completely revised, with the new design drawing its inspiration from the hunting lodges in traditional local farms. Deer antlers now adorn the façade of the Main House and point visitors towards the “Hunter’s Sauna”. The sauna has a rustic design, with antlers on the walls and colorful silhouettes of wild game like boar and grouse providing a truly atmospheric ambience. The sauna has been given real attention to detail – even the door handles are made out of antlers. It is authentically reminiscent of the type of hunting lodge that has been used in large local farms for hundreds of years. Hunting is an integral part of the rural culture of our region and is a reflection of people’s love for the natural world. And the special flair of saunas like the Hunter’s Sauna are certainly part of the reason why Saunahof, which holds a Premium Class certificate, is now among the very best sauna centers in all of Germany. The facility was opened in 2003 and consists of an original Rottal four-sided farm courtyard with a cluster of 18th Century farmhouses, all lovingly restored with the latest technology and comfort. The Saunahof has built up an unmistakable image in its short history by drawing its inspiration from everyday life and agriculture in the region. To mark this special time of year, the atmospheric “Hunter’s Sauna” has succeeded the Finnish Sauna, providing wellness for all, not just hunters! It goes without saying that the sauna also has infusions to match the mood. The “poacher” and “hunter” infusions smelling of the forests and fields, the unavoidable cry of “Tally hoe” and the odd hunting story make the “Hunter’s Sauna” into an absolute highlight for all our guests.

Cooling 3 °C eye masks are available every day from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. They look like ski masks and are intended to be worn in the 90°C Hunter’s Sauna. The masks are incredibly pleasant in the heat and they also help combat headaches and migraines.

The sensuous way the singing bowls are played has an incredibly relaxing effect, restoring wellbeing through the combination of vibrations and sounds. Sounds have a particularly powerful effect in the sauna. This is due to the mix of different sensations provided by the smells and warmth, giving sauna-goers an extended perception of feelings and the experience in general. The sauna sensitizes the body, increasing the intensity of sounds. A good mixture of audible and physical sensations provides the perfect sauna-sound experience.
